We created ‘Wonderwood’ as part of a campaign for Leeds City Council to change perceptions and raise the profile of Holbeck Urban Village, we were asked by Igloo Regeneration to spearhead the PR for the regeneration of Marshall’s Mill and Round Foundry, continuing to work with Hermes when they took over the estate in 2015.

Our work began at the height of the economic crash with a brief to heighten the area’s reputation as a hub for creative and digital companies and to attract these types of businesses to the area. At one stage, the closure of a number of tenant businesses reduced occupancy levels at Marshalls Mill from 80% to 18%.

We oversaw delivery of marketing, PR, media relations – including social media, stakeholder engagement, local newsletter ‘The Circular’ and partnership events, reviewing and adjusting tactics on a regular basis. With Marshall’s Mill reaching the important milestone of becoming fully let and Round Foundry similarly buoyant, the area’s reputation as a great place to locate a business was firmly established.

The estate has become a magnet for creative technology businesses in Leeds, and the end of 2016 saw Marshalls Mill achieve 100% occupancy for the first time since its refurbishment in 2001.
